Spiral-shaped

flexion springs

Spiral-shaped flexion springs are obtained by rolling a rectangular section wire so as to form a set of levelled concentric coils.

When a given force is applied, it causes the rotation of one of the extremities in relation to the other, thus leading to a flexion of the coils.

Example of a spiral-shaped flexion spring:

De = External Ø

L = Width of the plate’s section

e = Thickness of the plate’s section

N = Number of coils
